Abstract

The aim of Regenerative medicine is to replace lost or defective tissues with new functioning ones. This has become possible due to the existence of stem cells in almost every part of the body. Pancreatic stem cells have received broad attention as it can be used in the treatment of one of the most common endocrine disorder, Diabetes Mellitus. This study provides a brief overview of adult pancreatic stem cell growth, isolation methods, therapeutic applications, and difficulties encountered when employing these cells. Numerous in vitro experimental experiments have verified that adult stem cells can be obtained from the pancreas.
